Shelton :: Torch Club
Torch Club is a youth leadership and community service club for boys and girls ages 11-13. It encourages positive community and club involvement by helping others through volunteerism. Throughout the year, our Torch Club collects and recycles ink cartridges and cans and bottles. In 2009, our members participated in the Shelton-Derby Memorial Day Parade, earning a first-place award. After a busy year, our Torch Club members earned the privilege of representing our Club at the 2009 Regional Boys & Girls Club Torch Club Summit in Boston, MA. Not only did they go on a grand adventure, but it was due to their hard work raising money from candy sales, redeemable cans and bottles, and fundraising activities such as the Community Car Wash and "A Dinner to Remember."
