RAYMOND P. LAVIETES UNIT ACADEMIC SUCCESS
Academic Success is part of our Formula for Impact, and the aim of these programs is to ensure that all Club members graduate from high school on time, ready for a post-secondary education and a 21st-century career. Our Raymond P. Lavietes Clubhouse offers the following programs free with your child's after-school membership.
Immersion Science is a fun and powerful marine science education program for kids in grades 5-8. The program was founded by famed oceanographer Dr. Robert Ballard, the discoverer of the Titanic! What makes the program so successful is its joint emphais on scientific knowledge coupled with the fun and excitement of exploration.
Power Hour: Making Minutes Count is a comprehensive homework help program designed to raise the academic proficiency of Club members. Our homework room is open Monday-Thursday and is staffed with a counselor to help any member needing assistance. We offer two computers and a printer in our homework room, as well as every-day supplies for those who may have forgotten theirs. We may also have special supplies for children needing materials for school projects as well. A permission slip is required for participation in Power Hour, which can be downloaded here or by clicking the image to the right.
